Lagree is a muscle endurance workout – it will not bulk you up, but it will give you the most sculpted body of your life! It is a low impact high intensity workout. There is no stress on joints, it is safe for connective tissue and the spine. The focus on strengthening the core is essential for balance and skeletal support. Through compounded movements, some exercises work over 600 muscles at once!
In Lagree, all movements are performed slowly with intention. We use the “Lagree count” which is a slow 4-6 count lasting 8-12 seconds each. This allows your mind to relax and focus on your form and alignment to achieve maximal benefit from the exercise. This does not mean Lagree is easy! Quite the opposite! Your muscles will shake, you will sweat, you will be sore and you will see results fast!
What is Lagree? My best advice is to try it for yourself, so many become “addicted” to the workout and method once they start and just love the results and how they feel leaving class.
Absolutely not! Lagree is based in bodybuilding methods and targets strength and endurance without developing bulk. Sebastien Lagree is constantly evolving and improving the method with experience and science.
Pilates was designed as a recovery method and is focused on combining breath with movement. It is a low intensity method where the heartrate is intended to remain under 90 beats per minute. Pilates has not evolved over time and relies on multiple machines (some very intimidating!). Pilates is an excellent method for wellness and restoration, but it is not Lagree.
With Lagree you will strengthen, tighten and tone without damaging joints. You will use one simple machine and your heart rate will climb! Lagree is not only a muscle endurance workout, it is a cardio workout where your target heart rate is 145-150 beats per minute!
Lagree is for everyone! Every movement in the Lagree Method can be modified to your ability. I can accommodate injury recovery, pregnancy, arthritis, beginners, and advanced clients without sacrificing your goals. Lagree is a high intensity workout, so men, you WILL be challenged for sure! While Lagree is extremely safe and low impact, as with any new exercise routine you must speak with your doctor before starting to ensure Lagree is a good fit for your specific medical needs and restrictions.
Lagree is a high intensity workout. Expect to sweat, shake and have muscle soreness with each session. If you are new to the Lagree Method I will introduce you to the Microformer and the movements of Lagree, You will have the choice of a session in my beautiful home studio or for the ultimate in convenience, I will bring the Microformer to your desired location, home or park and set it up. We will briefly discuss any injuries or special requirements and your goals. No matter your level, form will be tantamount and I will teach you to follow the ’10 magic principles’ of Lagree. Once you are oriented and feeling comfortable, we will dive right in to maximize each session.
